We're having our Christmas party on Boxing Day this year instead of Christmas Eve. Everyone is invited for breakfast before going shopping, or for brunch. I'm making buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy.

Biscuits and gravy are so so so so delicious.

I thought Boxing Day was always the 26th of December... Something in a history text about it being the day the servants were given off or partially off and they were given boxes of leftovers from the Christmas dinner...

Or maybe I just made that up...

This would be biscuits and gravy (not what you call biscuits):

What I don't understand is why a place that is below freezing for 3/4 of the year would use celcius. It makes it sound SO much colder! lol

Boxing Day *is* always on the 26th, however, if it falls on the weekend, the Bank Holiday for it will be on the following Monday or Tuesday (depending on whether Christmas also fell on the weekend).

Yeah, custard creams with gravy wouldn't be appetising. American biscuits are somewhat like savoury scones. Kinda.
