this picture just makes me tear up, the women praying their rosaries, the lady holding a crucifix. the lady beside her is holding a picture of St. Pio (it looks like).

I really like how the Pilgrims area always calm and the protesters look so ridiculous, and how they are clearly not protesting that it is expensive (not to mention, that's such a stupid reason, since they're now how many people there spending money...).

there where homosexual extremists or possibly mis informed protestors at world youth day 08 in australia, they expected 8000 but only 30-40 showed up, and they weren't allowed past the barriers on the road for the march to where the final mass was held. There will always be antagnosts not allways because they are devil worshippers but because the mis-informed as to what the church actually believes.
God bless you all
p.s. i like how all the pilgrims are cool as cucumbers :)

pax domine, and i get how some of the world may consider us homophobic because there still on the hippy wave decieved as to what true freedom actually is and that true freedom doesn't mean anything goes. We are all sinners to some degree but to say well lets just go hell for leather so to speak most definately would wind us back in sodom and gomorah :( i usually say what's next, where does it end, the farmer marrying his pig? :(

This makes me tear up too, and is sad and unfortunate, but I like, as you said, how the pilgrims are being calm and such, making the protesters look rather ridiculous.
But "blessed are you when they persecute you...on account of Me," Jesus said.
God help the pilgrims!

Maybe that was a really bad attempt at trying to dress up like the Pope?

I admire their courage. I have to admit that if I were one of those girls in the front, I would be pretty scared of what that man was going to do.

(The one time I prayed at an abortion clinic, people were rolling down their windows and threatening/insulting us. Considering it was my first time, it was scary.)

Well I've never been in a situation like that before but if I was I probably wouldn't react very well.

Either that or I would scream at them in not so friendly terms.

But for some reason I just had this sudden desire to be with the pilgrims in Madrid so I could suffer this mockery with them; they are my brothers and sisters in Christ, in Mother Church!
St. Peter pray for us.
