I should have liked the one who said it needn't follow just war to be so to post. That's interesting.

I don't think we can demand that a war follow Catholic THEORY. The just war theory is not dogmatic and I saw on a Catholic website very recently that some theologians think that it's in need of some work.

Well I for one didn't like the Choices, A war could be just and Faught in an unjust way among other things. Also one does not need to Know catholic Theology to fight a Just war on simply must act in an objectively Just way which has been explained by the Church as Just war theory.

God seemed to have thought that war was the way to go quite often in times of old. We are also aware of a very real war being played out on a spiritual front every hour of every day. So yes, war is real and necessary.

hyperdulia again

if the us was invaded my support of fighting back would depend on who was invading and why, but as a point of fact if you invade a place you are the aggressor and the people you invade have a right to fight back.

I voted no, but I do think war is needed sometimes...to call it just would imply that the innocents that die as a result deserved and are somehow recieving justice...war is has to many costs to be considered just or fair, even when it is necessary.

Of course you don't like the choices.

I didn't say one had to know just war theory, just follow it. One can follow rules without knowing them. People here are familiar with just war theory, which is something one could arrive at by non-Catholic philosophy. I chose familiar terms.

If you're going to pick, at least try to exercise some judgement about it.

Good point... but Catholic Theory is better than any other out there, when it comes to right and wrong...

When it comes to right and wrong, we know that it's up to God... hence, no other church knows God better than the Catholic Church.

Well, if you say that it's okay to fight back, that's still war, so I don't see how you could've voted for the plain "no" answer. Just war theory definitely allows defensive wars.
