point5
I asked my brother, a bright atheist, to give me his attacks on the bible...and he gave me this link: http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/mt/pr_list.html He did not do this to invalidate it but to show where alot of the bad stuff happens in the bible...he finds it amusing. But I was looking at the attacks that it had to prophecies being fulfilled and frankly didnt know how to respond to its comments!!! Help me...give me a link...your insight...this is troubling me greatly...I want to show him prophecies that were fulfilled that are solid and cannot be refuted. He also asked Why a loving God cursed all for Eves sin, flooded mankind, etc etc. Why does God let girls get raped...etc etc. And I feel I can answer these but it would be better to have some other sources than my own personal knowledge. Thanks family -Kiel

ironmonk
Also, something to note... many who claim to be athiests really are not athiests... they are mad at God and they think that they are getting Him back by saying they don't believe... A true atheist wouldn't care to prove the bible wrong... a true athiest would care about what the truth was but they would not get nasty toward Christians. point5
just on a side note...ironmonk...by brother didnt try to prove the bible wrong...I simply asked him what his attacks on it were...he never really even mentioned it before...he actually is not nasty towards christians, and is a rather compassionate person... he is a seeker of truth...but I feel he only is willing to accept truth that complies with his predetermined mindset. ps I really appreciate your insight...you have valuable knowledge and resources! -Kiel
Pio Nono
JMJ 4/29 - St. Catherine of Siena St. Augustine, commenting on the bad stuff that Scripture records, is quoted as saying, "Narrata, non laudata(It is narrated, not praised) - Only an account of the action is given, not a commendation of it. It was fitting that the judgment of God was included in some accounts of human action and omitted from others. The judgment of God is mentioned to enlighten our ignorance and, where it is not mentioned, we must either use knowledge we have gained elsewhere or stir ourselves to ask questions" (Contra Faustum, 22, 45). point5
thank you on a side note for ironmonk... I took alot of the stuff from the peter Kreft text you gave me and used the design argument, and the Aquinas arguments, but he still seems to refute them...and I can go into greater depth...alot of it is what if stuff, but not to discredited as good critiques of the original arguments...I would be willing to forward you the email if you like it is not terribly long byu any means and maybey you could help...I am fairly new in the theistic arguments, for I have not needed a logical explanation for that which I know is true....nevertheless I am still interested in learning them!
