Well, it depends on the shot glass. I mean, if it looked like this:

then the breastmilk container is probably better. :| (Though still smelly)

I was hoping to be able to use something I had around already, but as I can't I will probably buy a plastic stoop on ebay and save the shot glasses for alcohol! :hehe2:

That's probably a better idea. I'd shudder to think what anyone would say if you said you used a shot glass as a holy water font. :hehe:

I drank holy water before. I woke up at 5 in the morning on my 21st birthday with a fever, stuffy nose, and throat infection. I had been looking forward to celebrating for months before that, and was hoping for a quick fix. :|

It didn't help. Not even a little. I was in bed for three days straight (except for the quick trip to the liquor store... :hehe:).

So no one ever answered my burning question about Holy Water on the Q&A, so I'mma hijack this quick. How come we can eat blessed salt but nobody drinks holy water?

It is customary for Byzantine Catholics (and, I'm assuming, those celebrating with us) to drink the water that is sanctified (meaning that's not just ordinary holy water) on Theophany (Jan. 6, the Baptism of the Lord, the Greater Sanctification of Water) and August 1 (Beginning of the Dormition Fast, the Lesser Sanctification of Water).

LOL, let me guess? Brandy or Grand Marnier? I used to work in a liquor store from 2002-2004 when I worked at BJ's Wholesale Club. I had several people tell me that warm brandy could cure a cold. I had others tell me to take Grand Marnier if I had a cough. I never did try those things, though. I can't stand alcohol in cough syrup (not to mention, I cannot take cough syrup with my daily medication if it has dextromethorphan), so I wouldn't like it.

Oh, neither. We got a bottle of rum and some daiquiri mix, because I waited 21 years to drink and darn it, I didn't care how sick I was, I wanted to celebrate my birthday. Even though it wasn't the big outing I planned, my roommates were very sweet and we toasted to me at home. I had one daiquiri, which soothed my throat, and slept like a baby.

:hehe: My dad sips Sambuca when he doesn't feel well. It actually does open up his sinuses!

Daiquiris I can handle. I actually like wine coolers and Chateau St. Michelle's Riesling (sounds fancy, doesn't it? the best riesling ever!). But when it comes to straight up alcohol. :x I can't stand it. I haven't found a liquor or liqueur I actually like. On my 21st birthday, I went a bar/liquor store to get a little 50mL bottle of Tequila Rose, which someone had told me was good when I worked at the liquor store. I took one sip and wanted to throw up. It was the worst thing I ever tasted. I wished I had gotten something more fruity like Chambord (the Raspberry Liqueur) or Amaretto (almond flavored). I probably would have been able to tolerate those.

I found out recently that I cannot drink red wine or anything with a heavy alcohol content. I have rosacea and I'm an EMHC. Once, when I was serving the Precious Blood, I had a lot left over and so I consumed the rest of it. I thought I came down with a fever. I became so flushed in the face and I felt like I was going to faint. My mom and aunt basically chastised me and told me never to drink the Precious Blood if I had a lot left over. I think I really gave them a good scare.

As far as I know, I can still drink white wines (and white Zinfandel, which is amesome) and wine coolers. The only beer I have found that I like doesn't seem to bother me that much - Blue Moon's Honey Moon Summer Ale.
