Blessed Salt

So what's the deal with blessed salt? I understand people (including myself) use it to cook with, and thus eat it, but how else can it be used? Also, I noticed that people consume blessed salt, but generally do not drink holy water. Any particular reasons for that? Or is drinking holy water also OK? Sorry if this is totally silly, it just randomly occurred to me.

Its ok to drink holy water. Salt has many uses especially if it has been blessed with the old rite as it is a tool for exorcism much like the St. Benedict Medal.
