It has something to do with this country. Our church does not have as many bad things happening in the rest of the world as it does here. Why are there so many scandal in our Church here? so many messed up things happening in our church here.

I'm gonna leave to vatican city if this carp keeps happening. It's pretty sad and scary if you ask me. We need a Saint to better things over here.

First, the priest has not been convicted of a crime. The crime happened over 20 years ago, the priest was a suspect at the time, and let go. Supposedly new evidence has come to light and they have arrested him on suspicion. This all came to light because a very questionable source claimed she was the victim of Satanic ritual abuse (a highly questionable claim) all the others she accused were found to be innocent already. Don't jump to conclusions.

More info can be found in the Toledo paper.

peace...

Well, I can't vouch for what happens in other countries since I've only been to Canada once, but it could be that things do happen in other countries but either:

1) Their press is not as free as ours or
2) Their press is not as anti-Catholic as ours

Besides, isnt the man, priest or not, innocent until proven guilty. Even being arrested of a crime, or convicted for that matter, does not mean the person is guilty. AND if he is guilty, who are we to judge the sitution. Dont things like mental illness, addiction, etc. make people less culpable for sin?

I agree totally with innocent-till-proven-guilty, but let us not forget, also, that a NUN was killed (viciously stabbed and strangled, from what I understand) in a CHAPEL. I mean, the (innocent or not) priest isn't the only sad part of this story, no?

I'm assuming that there are other people as deeply offended by this as I am...

Offended by TN's post or by the murder? (Just looking to clarify...)

I am totally offended and saddened by the murder of this sister, but I also agree with TN, we can't just condemn the priest unless we know that he's guilty. I don't have the evidence in front of me so I don't know, but both are certainly in my prayers, as are those investigating the case.

Iceprincess, are you serious? The murder, of course! :(

Sorry; didn't meant to be unclear. Sometimes that happens in cyberspace.

Thats what I thought, but I had to do a double take. lol Thanks for clearing that up. :) (I figured obviously you found the murder upsetting, but the way it came right after TN's post I wasn't toally sure what you thought about the post.)

LOL! Sorry about that. It's been a long day, and I'm coming down with a cold: definitely a recipe for fuzzy-headedness!
