Sarah147
although John Denver wrote this for his wife, I often sing it to Jesus, and used to sing it to Him at the Seraphic Sisters Convent when I was all alone cleaning the Chapel. BG45
OK, time for me to come out of the country closet ... I love this song.
Well if we're coming out of the country closet, semi-Christian song, but only uses "Jesus" and "Lord" sparingly. More sparingly than some of the songs mentioned here lol: Edited August 13, 2011 by BG45
Ice_nine
Very interesting. I've never heard that interpretation, and in my own interpretation I've always focused just on the despair.
I've always liked the song, but his interpretation brought a new light to it, and I think his exegesis is solid
OK, time for me to come out of the country closet
We all have flaws. Johnny Cash is about the only country I listen to because he is a freaking legend. I love his cover of "hurt" although I can't quite say its uplifting ok I like this song that's kinda country http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxIsKcdy3Jk&ob=av2e
I find this somewhat spiritual and a great song from the past.
I do love that song I would say that it's more poignant than uplifting tho. I also give props on Mumford and Sons <3. I like "Little Lion Man," "White Blank Page" and "Dustbowl Dance" the mostest.
loveofchrist1
I have always liked this song-THE CLIMB by Miley Cyrus. http://youtu.be/NG2zyeVRcbs Its uplifting and it can be seen from both a secular and spiritual point view, that we all face all kinds of struggles until we get to our appointed destination.
