Scapular Question

ok last calendar year i was invested with the scapular and recieved one from the priest at the church i go to here at school.......long story short, it was not made very well and soon started to fall apart, almost to the point of not being able to wear it......needless to say i bought a new, more sturdy one.......my question is what do i do with the old one?....can i just throw it away or is there a procedure to dispose of it or whats up?!!?

If it's safe to burn it, I'd do that. Otherwise I should bury it in soil. That seems to be the two things we do with sacred objects that cannot be used anymore.
