OnlySunshine
That's beautiful! I LOVE the Holy Family so it would be amesome to have as a mystery. Unfortunately, the order I am discerning with does not use mysteries (at least, I don't think they do). I could be mistaken but I have never seen a Sister's name with a mystery attached.
Ah! I stand corrected. I looked at their website again and they do allow the use of mysteries for names. AnneLine
Then I got a name for you: Sr. M. Dominique! Dominique Chickens are very varied according to the books read as to whether the origins are French or American. The data about the American Dominiques origins is unreliable. It is likely a selection from one of many grey fowls located in New England. The different types of Dominique Chickens indicate varied bloodlines, these could possibly be from the Asiatic and Hamburg Chickens. No, I did NOT make this up!!! The Dominique’s heavy plumage protects the bird in cold weather and is used commercially as material for pillows and featherbeds. Developed from introduced breeds from early New England settlements, the Dominique chicken was widely distributed across the eastern US by mid-19th century. The Dominique chicken is hardy, does well on the open range as well as in confinement, and is generally a calm bird. As a dual purpose bird, the hens lay light to dark brown eggs That sounds a whole lot like you, Lil Mon! Edited April 15, 2012 by AnneLine

emmaberry
bump! I would love to have Our Lady and St Clare incorporated into my name. Unless I became Sr Mary Veronica of the Holy Face, I'd love to have 'of the Immaculata' as the devotion. Some examples: Clara Marie of the Immaculata Mary Clare Francesca Marie Maria Agnes Dei Mary Therese Mary-Stella Regina Marie Regina Coeli Mary Veronica of the Holy Face Edited June 11, 2012 by emmaberry
EmilyAnn
That is a very long list Emma! I actually love the sound of Mary Veronica, it flows well St. Cecilia's allows three submissions so assuming there aren't any sisters there with these names I want to submit: Mary Agnes Mary Ambrose Mary Paul
OnlySunshine
Still sticking like glue to Sr. Mary Elizabeth! I cannot deny that the Visitation is one of my many motivations to discern. Fun fact: Yesterday, we had the Corpus Christi procession after Mass and the very last altar outside was dedicated to the Visitation! I think it's because of the Respect Life Ministry. We have been talking about the Visitation in our Bible Study group (the subject I keep bringing up!) and the coordinator for the Bible Study is also the coordinator for Respect Life. I will have to ask her tomorrow night! I was so excited to see an image of the Visitation. As Rosalind Moss (who wrote our Bible Study guide) said, the Visitation was the very first Eucharistic Procession from Mary to Elizabeth. Mary became the first Monstrance, which is undeniably beautiful. If I absolutely cannot have Sr. Mary Elizabeth, I would request Sr. Bethany Marie or maybe Sr. Mary Isabel (a variant form of Elizabeth).
Queen'sDaughter
That is a beautiful reflection, Mater. I never really thought of Marys' visiting Elizabeth as the very first Eucharistic procession. Definitly food for thought. I am still enamored with the name Rose. I will likely submit as my choices Sister Rose Angeli, Sister Rose Pieta, and Sister Rose. Or, perhaps Dolorosa. Possible titles would be of the Will of God, or of the Cross, or of the Angels. So many choices...
