For the next three weeks I will be living a block away from the National Shrine, and right next to door to the Franciscan Monastery. These are the daily Mass and confession times available to me:

National Shrine
7AM, 7:30AM, 8AM, 8:30AM, 12:15PM, 5:15PM Masses
7:45-8:15AM, 10-Noon, 3:30-6PM Confessions

Franciscan Monastery
6AM & 7AM Masses
9-4PM Confessions

Add that together with living with religious... I'm pretty sure I'm in Catholic disneyland.

And I bet you'll be able to hear the carillon from there. (Sundays at 2:30 PM according to my info, but it could be different during the summer.)

I'm not too far from DC, we should meet up for a quick hello! My husband and I were hoping to take Travis on a pilgrimage to the Shrine before too long anyway. ;)

Oh I am envious.
I used to be similarly blessed when I lived in Madrid (close to two separate churches. Choice of several masses each day. Now, in the UK, I have access to a maximum of three masses a week, and two of those during working hours. :(

That would be wonderful! It looks as though I'll be working M-F, but weekends are great for me. Let me know when you plan on making pilgrimage!

Yeah, I'm staying temporarily at the house of studies convent in DC, since all of the novices are on convencia (vacation) in NH for the month of August. I'll move into the Novitiate in September. :)

;) i think i have you beat ;). while i was living in budapest i had about 10 churches all within 15 minutes of my apartment that each had anywhere from 3-5 daily masses each (the basilica had a mass almost every hour from 6am until noon) + two perpetual adoration chapels + confessions a few times a day :)

if only it was like this everywhere! Edited by loveletslive

I blame USAirways for the derailment of this thread. http://www.wellesley.edu/Activities/homepage/carillonneurs/carillon.html
