And do the Creed, and the Our Father, and pray for the intentions of the Pope. So basically all the stuff Red does at Church.

Go and pray, and then confess. Or confess and then pray. Next time you receive, you'll be golden. :proud:

I assumed? :P I don't say the Creed each time, but you're a mod! And I need to do Confession too, but I'm assuming the 8 day dealio works for both of us. I'm gonna be going closer to this time tomorrow night though. Second day of moving tomorrow...tonight's my last night sleeping in this apartment!

That's how I understand what Fr. Z wrote, at least.

And re: house call...holy cow, I really envy you. My life would be so much easier if my padre did that. :|

well, it's a priest-friend. he knows i'm paranoid about traveling, because i told him if the plane crashes and burns & i go to hell, it's all his fault. :| because he wouldn't make time to hear my confession. :|

Wow, I have no mind. I didn't even think of the Creed during Mass!!

I think you'd be golden! And I envy your priest making housecalls! I was going to go to Confession tomorrow morning, until the uhaul place called and said the truck I reserved is 26 miles away and I have to pick it up during Confession times...so I'll be getting my Confession on Thursday. :(

The Indulgence:

"The Portiuncula indulgence is the first plenary indulgence that was ever granted in the Church. There were indeed indulgences at all times, but they were only partial, and only a partial remission of the temporal punishments could be obtained by them. But, as already remarked, he who gains the Portiuncula indulgence is freed from all temporal punishments and becomes as pure as after holy baptism. This was also the reason why Pope Honorius was astonished when St. Francis petitioned for the confirmation of this indulgence, for such an indulgence, up to that time, bad been entirely unknown. It was only after he had come to the conviction that Jesus Christ himself wished it, that he granted the petition of the saint and confirmed the indulgence"

August 2nd is the feast of Portiuncula. A plenary indulgence is available to anyone who will

1. Receive sacramental confession (8 days before of after)

2. Receive the Holy Eucharist at Holy Mass on August 2nd

3. Enter a parish church and, with a contrite heart, pray the Our Father, Apostles Creed, and a pray of his/her own choosing for the intentions of the Pope.
