Sin Of Gluttoney?

So what is gluttoney? is it just over eating? is it enjoying food and choosing food that is enjoyable to eat? When is it a mortal sin?

I guess I am just really confused about gluttoney.

Gluttony is the inordinate longing for food or drink. Immoderation in eating is in itself only a venial sin. It may be a grave sin, however for other reasons, e.g. injury to one's health.

Intemperance in drinking which has as its immediate effect the loss of the use of reason is a graver sin than immoderation in eating.

Intoxication that results in a partial loss of reason is a venial sin. it may be a mortal sin because of injury to health, harm to one's family etc.
