MissScripture
I cannot answer the poll. I have seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but I did not see the movie. I got to see it as a play, in London. IT WAS SO COOL! But I haven't seen the movie, so I don't know how cool that is.
MargaretTeresa
The movie is pretty good. I haven't watched it years, however. (I own it on VHS)

faithcecelia
I was brought up on films like this and others of its era - Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, etc. I LOVE them! I used to know it word for word, but when I watched it with Corin recently I have forgotten bits - must watch it more!
Adrestia
Growing up I had no idea that The Sound of Music took place during WWII. I can't remember how old I was when I noticed the Nazis, but I do remember thinking that I should have noticed at a younger age.
MissScripture
I LOVE The Sound of Music. Family Favorite, because my grandma used to live in those mountains, and well, it's just a wonderful show! When I was planning my sister's "bachelorette" party before she left for the Nashville Dominicans, I was trying to find "nun" movies and I said, "We could watch the Sound of Music!" My sister looked at me and said, "Um, you know, she LEAVES the convent and gets married. That's kind of not the tone we want to set!"
