Obviously a new missal will come out, but what other missal like books/resources are available? I use an iPhone app while at weekday Mass, but don't use it at Sunday Mass because I don't want to be accidentally grouped with those texting during Mass. I know the parish is getting some sort of book... But that's all I know

Before I moved (sob!) we in the parish office had just received a ton of stuff from companies about the change. All of them were weird sizes, and impossible to copy (yes, we copy everything. We're kinda poor at this parish).

Since my pastor likes to do everything ahead of time, he's starting in September to go over the responses with the daily Mass crew. That way, everyone's not TOTALLY confused come the 1st Sunday of Advent.

As far as bishops are concerned, I think the USCCB put out a statement that said parishes aren't "supposed" to use the responses yet, but parishes should prepare their congregants.

I can't wait! I'm asking for a new missal set for Christmas....along with a tea set, too! :) It's so exciting that the translation is more true to the original Latin!

Our Bishop-Emeritus has given one of the parishes in our diocese permission to use the new English translation of the Roman Missal's sung parts, greeting, Gloria, Credo, Sanctus and Mystery of Faith beginning on the first Sunday of September. Don't know about the parishes in my deanery.

Here is a look at the actual thing at the Chant Cafe

I need to figure out how this is going to work. All I know as of now is "and with your spirit". This could be interesting.

So going through this, didn't realize we didn't say Glory to you O Lord at the gospel. That's how I've always said it.
