We had a meeting about it last week. As expected, there are mixed feelings among the parishioners but overall fairly positive. Weekday Masses are going to be the new translation as soon as possible with Sunday from Advent, so those of us who go to weekday will have a lovely muddle for a while :hehe2: I'm looking forward to it, and have been reading and praying it over for a few weeks now. Interestingly, the 'Holy Holy' is almost word for word the same as the Anglican Mass, the setting of which the Ordinariate already have permission to use.

Some parishes in my diocese have already started with the new translation and I am just sooo jealous that my area isn't one of them. All in due time, all in due time. I gotta figure out which book to get (I am thinking of the Magnificat one)

Oooops, that was on my phone and didn't come out properly!!

I thought the new translation could only be used from Sept but I wonder if that is just England and Wales maybe? I have the CTS booklet with the Latin and English side by side, but will get the new Missals as soon as they are available.

I was also under the impression that we couldn't use the new translation until Advent. Which would rule out things like mentally saying "And with your spirit" being okay.

Does anyone have any sources for whether or not it's okay to start using them? Because if it is okay, next time somebody says, "Peace be with you," I'm answering, "And with your spirit." The other times you say that it's not as noticeable.
