Only two months left until the wedding, and now with his ring purchased I suddenly feel like it's right around the corner!

Any other wedding planning going on around here??

Nihil Obstat

My wedding is about 22 months away, but we've started planning anyway.
I plan on getting a band like this one:

Tungsten carbide, so the polish never wears out, it will never scratch, and it can't bend.

Those and the titanium ones are very tough. They can also be great for ripping the flesh off your finger if you get it caught in something.

We really both wanted yellow gold, but it would have been nice if there was a sturdier material in the gold color. The sturdy ones all seem to be silver or chrome colored.

LaPetiteSoeur

I found out this year that my friend's father has somehow gone through THREE wedding rings. The first I think went down the drain. The other got lost in a field (like an expansive field, with no hope of ever finding it, though they tried.). The other flew off when he was fixing a car. No joke. Now his ring has the IV engraved in the back.

My friend thinks it's hilarious. But I hope this doesn't happen to any phatmassers!

It sounds like he consistently buys rings that are too big for him!

He lost weight! Which was a good thing, but he never got his ring resized. We hope that this ring stays on!

I don't think anyone has ever guessed that my wedding ring is silver instead of being white gold or platinum. I wanted silver. Of course, I'm also allergic to gold. Yep. I'm weird.

That's amesome because silver is cheaper. I bought a band that was supposed to be white gold and turned out to be silver (we got ripped off) so I think that influenced my decision to go with yellow gold in the end.

I insisted on a silver engagement ring. It's family tradition. He didn't object to me just wanting a $50 engagement ring, for some strange reason.

Yeah, our wedding bands were like $30 for the both of them. We then had them engraved, so it came to about $60 total for both of them. Can't complain.

Weeeeellll, my brother is getting married in the Cathedral by their college chaplain. I'm kind of annoyed by the date....because I have to leave a core team event early. BUT OH WELL. They've been together for 7 years. And she's really short....and heels+cathedral floor=falling while i was receiving the eucharist in the EFM....Her engagement ring is GORGEOUS. My brother has GREAT taste.

Best part:they pray the rosary together. he's a convert to catholicism (step-brother) and I'm so glad he's marrying in the church. I'll have to find a picture of them together. they are adorable.

OH, and the date is June 1st.
