Lil Red
Might want to save them then for someplace other than church. Not exactly the place you are supposed to be looking for people to be checking out your body parts.
well, if good Catholic girls are all covered up like they're supposed to be at church, how else will they get a good Catholic man? Laudate_Dominum
Nice sandals > tacky flip flops I think it's the effort that counts and not legalistic rules of dress. Also some cultural relativism here. I'm not offended by New Guinea highlander women going to mass with bare breasts, but if I went to a parish here in town and saw the women with bare breasts I'd be upset. Similarly, if I were at Mass in New Guinea and there were men wearing nothing but phallocarps... okay, this is becoming gratuitous. edit: toned down believe it or not Edited July 29, 2011 by Laudate_Dominum

MissyP89
Flip flip flip flip flip. It makes me twitchy. But I wear sandals all the time to Mass, especially in the summer. My summer dress shoes are basically sandals that I wear to the newsroom, which is a business casual environment. In the winter, I usually wear dark jeans with boots. Yes, I said jeans. Oooooh. FutureSister2009
I only wear them to weekday Masses. I have some fancy dressy flip flops I occasionally wear on Sundays
MargaretTeresa
I generally only wear flip flops to weekday Mass because I'm either on the way to or between classes. In the summer I wear sandals. NOTE: There is a difference. If I wear flip flops to Sunday Mass, it's generally because I was running late and was like oh poo! gotta go!
Hopefully the Mass won't be the first place the Good Catholic Girl chooses as her place to hunt for men. She might want to be putting her time in there with her greatest love of all, Jesus. She can slide her funky shoes on and pull down her top once she goes in to grab that donut afterwards. Just don't make me observe your sex cruising styles in the house of my Lord. People in there are actually attemtping to dialogue with the Lord and your flipping and flapping is so obnoxious and so inappropriate. You can slip on some non noise making shoes for Mass. I don't care how fancy your flip flops are for Sunday, I don't want to hear them. That is the point. Silence. Used to actually be something people strived for in the sanctuary.
bravo for working phallocarps into the thread.
Yes, I knew it was a joke. Unfortunately, I see these things in various churches. The wonderbra in row three, the mini skirt with the heels in row five. Their dress reflects where they are at in their faith journey and some of them do dress as if the bar were their next stop. Shoes are the least of the offenses. I wouldn't automatically reference whore with shoes. I would reference flip flops with idiot though.
