Vincent Vega
Better tell Jesus that. I heard he always wore sandals. What a jerk, huh?

sixpence
hmm... when it was literally 103 F at Mass this past weekend the priest wore sandals... also I've seen the older sisters at my home parish wear sandals when performing as extraordinary ministers.... on another note I wear sandals to lab... and just about everywhere... and I have some great shearling flip flops for the winter
Adrestia
I hope that folks who are in town on vacation come to mass, even in their flip flops. Our pastor did ask parishioners who are serving (reading or EMHC) to wear something other than flip flops, & it was a touch funny coming from a Franciscan. Pax_et bonum
I'm going to cheer camp this weekend with my Catholic high school squad. It's Friday-Sunday, so we're going to Mass Sunday morning I was very happy to find out. We were informed that we are going in our camp clothes for the day--short soffee shorts and a tshirt. Not so happy. I tried to raise my concern about wearing shorts that barely cover our butts to Mass, but she replied along the lines of "oh, I'm sure it'll be fine. The whole squad will be matching." I cannot wear that to Mass in good conscious; I would feel unclean. Any ideas on what to do?
is there a way to bring a skirt (that won't get too wrinkled) in a purse or day bag to change into before Mass? that would be a good solution. if the person is someone you feel comfortable talking to, i would tell her that you respect how you represent yourself at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and you do not want to wear your cheer shorts to the Mass. CatherineM
Our priests sometimes wear sandals in summer. Our church is designed for winter, and has no air conditioning, and only a couple of windows that actually open.
Azriel
My Priest wore flip flops to perform a Baptism. Our fount runs into a pool on the floor.
Winchester
Probably the heels should be a little higher, but this is acceptable. You don't need the chalk, the board or that pointy thing, though.
