SoylentGreene
...Where are you? Remind me to never ever go there ever.
That's pretty much how I feel. I've never experienced a parish like this. I've never had the misfortune to experience a priest like this. From his demeanor it really seems like he doesn't like Jesus in the Eucharist. What a tragedy. He gives the most unspiritual homilies I've ever heard in my life. Its not a good thing. I can't shake the feeling that there's something really wrong at this parish. I don't think what he meant was that we can't judge what the politicians who support abortion is doing is wrong. carmenchristi
How do you know that the absolution was invalid? What words did he add/omit? If you are sure that it was invalid (and not just illicit) you should most certainly make it known to your bishop.
AudreyGrace
I suggest you go new parish hunting. Or "parishunting".
Amppax
personally i prefer wabbit hunting, but in this scenario, parishunting seems to be a good idear.

It sounds like something that would happen up here...
Slappo
I believe he has to invoke the Holy Trinity during absolution as well "I absolve you of your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." I could be wrong though. I'm not super good at forms of sacraments . I get really weird ones all the time, or priests that forget the rest of the form and skip parts on accident... it happens... and it's unfortunate, but as long as the absolution is there then you're good. SoylentGreene
There's a parish not too far away that is really amesome: they have perpetual adoration and the priests are really reverent. I can get there by bus so I might look into that. At this point I'm struggling with an intense dislike of this priest to the point that it interferes with my experience at Mass.
