I have seen part of Brian but I didn't get to the parts with any nudity so I am unsure of that, but Monty Python is comedy and isn't meant to undermind faith, like Da Vinci Code is.
bare-breasted "angels" who are more prostitutes than anything else.
Everyone is making a too big deal about this. People act like this movie is like the greatest thing to happen to mankind and such and every other person is bashing it automatically calling it "Christian propaganda". Hey love it or hate it, whether your trying to challenge it or not, remember this before you go too childish: it's just a movie.
Gee, I'd have to disagree with ya there.
The Passion of the Christ isn't just a movie.
It's a movie about the singular event in history which saved mankind.
It's a movie about Our Faith.
About Our Lord.
No other movie comes close.
No other movie was so wrapped in prayer, nor intended for so noble a cause.
Gibson didn't make the movie to get rich; in fact, he figured his career would be ruined.
He made it for the love of Christ.
And look at his reward.

What other movie have you seen lately that has made you feel closer than ever before to Christ when you left the theatre?

Pax Christi. <><
The nudity is done in very poor taste, and is by social definition flat out pornography. I'm sorry but I see their rendition of "angels" as nude lapdancers sick and wrong. I just cannot see our Dear Lord and Savior "laughing his but off" at this movie. :(
I just feel sick reading about it... I haven't seen the movie but just by also reading the article I'd not pay one cent toward that movie or anything supporting it. That's just a perfect example of people wanting to mock the Passion. Yea I know it's comedy, but if my Dad (God) doesn't like it, then neither do I. In all true honesty, can you really picture God laughing at that filth?

Just noticed something...this is a 20-day old thread o.o Oh well.. I'm bored.

INMHO Monty Python films are pretty anti-catholic. I'm thinking about the Meaning of Life. BLECH!!

Yeah Monty Python likes to make fun of Catholics. But then again, they make fun of Protestants in Meaning of Life as well. Not that I actually liked that movie...and I don't exactly plan on seeing Life of Brian. But I have seen Holy Grail (their best one, I think) which is one of my favorite movies.

"It's not a matter of where he grips it! It's a matter of weight ratios! A 5 ounce bird could not carry a 1lb coconut!"

Yeah. I'm hopeless. :(
Whether your Catholic or Protestant, it makes fun of Christianity, period.
The world would be a better place if everyone was made fun of.

Rebirth flame

i dunno, just me personally, but i'd never go see the Life of Bryan... There are some things that are funny when you poke fun at them, but some things aren't funny to me... Making a movie about a boy who is believed to be the Messiah but really isn't, mocking Jesus, just kinda irks my bottom... And re-releasing it due to the success of the Passion is just sick to me...

but this is all my personal opinion. :D

After seeing The Passion, Ive come to a new understanding of the Sacrifice Christ made for us.

In short, I can't laugh at anything mocking Him.

Thy Geekdom Come
I had reservations about seeing the Life of Brian until I walked into the Pre-Theo lounge at a local seminary and they were watching it and laughing their buts off. Since then I've been dying to see it!
They weren't supposed to be watching that! It's rated-O!

Oh, well, I suppose we were probably watching the Matrix in St. Michael's Hall, anyway...

Ash Wednesday

I am a little mixed with Life of Brian. The part with Pontius Pilate will still make me laugh so hard my stomach hurts if I ever see it again. (I used to own it, though not anymore...) But the idea that it could be offensive to God and the crucifixion troubles me.

'nuff said. Thanks Anna. I know The Life of Brian is comedy, but their timingand reasoning for releasing it now is not right. <_<

The only good thing is that it does show an interest in Christianity in mod. times, if mostly incorrect. It's our job to provide the correction. :)
