Guest
AH! I didn't understand that you are after a general baptism. Sorry.
O its ok. I just want her baptised. So she's sealed by God. And even though her mormon baptism isn't valid, a part of me thinks God might recognise it cause her heart is good and she loves Him and she thinks she was baptised.
her baptism isn't valid to us. my own opinion is that mormonism is a cult, not a religion. having a good heart and being a good person is great but if we don't believe in the name of Jesus we won't be saved. the Bible says so in exactly those words. but we can't convince anyone of this. only the Holy Spirit can and it's hard to not have control of everything. i finally learned that after many years of butting my against a brick wall. my husband before he did i'm sure did not know the Lord. he was brought up in the church but totally misunderstood what it what is all about. i prayed for 12 years for him and God answered my prayer. before he died i knew that all would be well and he go to be with God when he died. if i tried to talk to him he only got very angry and since he was abusive i didn't want to feed the fire. we think that people aren't hearing us but when are alone they think about we have said. you have planted the seed. maybe God will use someone else to reap the harvest. but you have shown your love and concern and that will say more to her than anything. because of the things some Christians do. Christianity has bad name with a lot of people and i don't wonder why. i was treated very badly by Christians and wanted nothing to do with religion or anything connected to it for 7 years. it spent 5 of those years, searching in a very dark place. i was in greater anguish than i can say. but after those 5 years i saw a little pinprick of light and i came out of the darkness and back to God. i still didn't go back to church and was very leery of Christianity but gradually i am coming back full tilt. at the bottom of a lot of people's refusal to listen is a lot of guilt, shame, fear and anger and it takes willingness to look those feelings truthfully in the eye, even though it is very scary to do. i finally did this because i couldn't stand being tormented by these things anymore and God is healing me. faithcecelia
Yes, RCIA can take a year, but if what you are hoping to convince her is to have Christian baptism (father, son and ghost) then other denominations may well do it quicker. I was baptised by total immersion in a Baptist church (I never became Baptist, just wanted baptism) after about 3 classes. It was amazing and I am so glad I did it that way. Groo the Wanderer
Take a deep breath Let it out Take another one Now.... It aint up to you. You are a worker in the vineyard, not the master gardener. Plant the seeds with love, water them with prayer, then get out of the way and let the Holy Spirit do His thing, in His time, in His way. I have to remind myself of this regularly too
