Pray For Patience And Charity

Please pray for me. I may have to interact with my toxic aunt tomorrow which is against my will. I haven't seen or spoken to her since our big fight and she still has not apologized for picking on me unwarranted. I don't want to have anything to do with her anymore so I'm going to try to sit as far away as I can, but my grandparents are in town and they may come to the same Mass that we do. I'm really hoping and praying that they go to the earlier one so we will not be forced to sit together and then go out to lunch together. If it comes to that, I will definitely not be attending lunch. I do not feel that it is healthy to be around my aunt because she feels that everything I do is disrespectful to her and she always treats me like a child even though I am 28 years old (in 3 days). She never takes responsibility for her actions, either. I'm hoping that since she is not scheduled as an EMHC that she will not be attending the same Mass. Even though she was scheduled last week, she didn't show up and she didn't ask for a substitute either. I am, however, scheduled to be an EMHC as is my mom. I don't want my aunt to stop attending Mass altogether, but I do hope that she will stop being an EMHC for a while since she never goes to Confession (she confessed to us that she hasn't been in over 30 years). She is not a model Catholic by any means, but neither am I. The difference is that I am constantly working on my faults, but she refuses to believe that anything she does is wrong. After 15 years of dealing with her obnoxious attitude, I've had enough. Please pray that I can be charitable enough to hold my tongue if we do end up at the same Mass together. I would like nothing better than to tell her off, but I know that will accomplish nothing and bring me down to her level.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for me. Amen.
