havok579257
So if one is late daily mass, not routinley, but it happens once is that a venial sin or is a mortal sin? I went to daily mass today. I was late because my own faults, basically because i was wasting time before hand. I showed up before the start of the 1st reading. so my question, is that a sin and if so would it be mortal or venial? also if someone is driving to daily mass and is going to be late, is it better not to go than to be late? i am not talking about sunday mass. i am only speaking of daily mass. i am confused since one is not required to attend daily mass, is it still sinful to be late for mass? cappie
Even if there were an issue here, if the tardiness was not habitual nor intentional, I just don't see the problem, there is no sin. However if one was to come into a church either just before the consecration or after then you should refrain from Holy Communion. If you are on your way to church and you know that you wolud be very late then the same would apply. I think the key words are "habitual tardiness". Even then it could be considered a venial sin at most.
