Vincent Vega
Ok. What if a Muslim student group was named 'Campus Jihad for Allah?' Getting rid of the Christ part is stupid but that their name has received so little criticism does point to a pretty serious double-standard in our culture.
I can see your point, but I could also look at it this way: Say the Japanese Student Union had a Kamikaze Fund Raiser. In 1951, people probably would have been pretty pist. In 2011, people probably wouldn't give it a second glance. Very few people get emotionally riled up about things that happened in the past, whether it's 70 years ago or 500 years ago. 2001, though, is still a pretty recent memory for most Westerners, particularly Americans, which is why a Campus Jihad would be controversial, or at least more controversial than a Campus Crusade. southern california guy
They could rename it "Campus Crusade for X" Or just call their group "Campus Cru for X". Of course if you see them on campus you could tell them that you don't really think that the crusades were a good thing and you sincerely hope that they don't advocate killing non-Christians!
