Where Do I Put My Ribbons?

I just put the ribbons where they are most helpful to me. Typically, I only do morning prayer, so I keep one ribbon by the Canticle of Zachariah, because then it's also just a page or 2 away from the Invitatory. I keep one ribbon marking the Sunday we're on, or else I lose track. One ribbon for where we are in the 4 week psalter and one ribbon back by the feasts, so I can check those before I say the prayer. But that's just what works best for me, because I only say morning prayer. I don't think there is really a set way to do it. :idontknow:

Like MS said, put the ribbons where it's helpful to you- I typically have one on the "regular day" for Morning/Evening. I have a card with the Canticles and Invitiatory psalms. Then I put one in the night prayer section, one in the feast day pages, and one in the hymns. The other ones just hang out. During other Liturgical seasons, Morning and Evening prayer take 2 ribbons- one for the part of the year and one for the psalter.

No no, I know where they go. But I don't know WHERE we are right now. I'm missing my St.Joe's Guide.

Do you got it now or need help? The guide on the internet made it a little unecessarily complicated. For Friday, this is what you see:
7/22/2011 Fri. St. Mary Magdalene 1196 707 1196 708 1196 710 1196 1196 1196 1464 1197

It's her feast day, so you will be on "her" page- 1196. Since she's a big saint, you'll celebrate "Sunday Week 1" (which is for all major feast days and holy days in addition to the regular every 4th Sunday). You'll use her antiphons, but flip back to 707 for the psalms.

Then, the reading is specifically for her day, as is the canticle antiphone (right before Zachariah's canticle). Then (this is a little bit unusual), you'll flip to 1464 for the intercessions, which is the Common of Holy Women. Then, you'll finish up with the final prayer on her feast day page.

Feast days make it hard, but it's usually not that challenging. Good luck! And don't give up if you get confused. I tell myself that God loves my effort :)
