BG45
I grew up Methodist and we used Welch's grape juice. I've heard of a few Lutheran churches who use both wine and grape juice. They use those little shot glasses. Purple is grape juice, white is wine... or something. I dunno. ETA: *never* heard any chuch using Koolaid.
Ditto here for my Baptist church, dunno about Koolaid either for the Lutherans.
homeschoolmom
As a Methodist, we received kneeling and on the tongue.
BG45
No kneeling or tongue for us, it was all assembly line. Take your bread cube and take your medicine cup of grape juice. Oh and no yelling "MY JESUS IS STALE" like one little kid did during Communion once. I nearly spit out my juice on the pastor while trying not to laugh. Luigi
'Splain an' I might.
Everybody says, "Give me a good reason why..." A few people say, "Give me three good reasons why... " To exaggerate, I sometimes say, "Give me sixteen good reasons why..." But if we're talking about Lutherans, then you gotta go to 95 reasons - to match Luther's 95 theses. It's an exaggeration of an exaggeration, with a church history twist. Kind of like a triple-insider joke.

Ash Wednesday
I went to a non denominational service of some kind once and they passed around trays with little tiny cups with grape juice and itty bitty crackers. I don't think I'd ever been to any church service outside of a Catholic mass, so I was like "WUT." Brother Adam's Walt Kowalski reference is just about the most amesome thing ever.
