I was banned from there. Well. I asked to have my account closed then about a year later decided I wanted to post again but never actually got around to asking to have my old account reopened. AND APPARENTLY THAT'S A NO NO!

I'm not surprised. I was suspended once just for reporting someone who was harassing me. The moderator explained that it was because my private messages were turned off and he couldn't get a hold of me to tell me to "get thicker skin." He is no longer a moderator, thank God, but he was so ugly and rude. You don't suspend someone just because they decide to turn their PMs off. :bash:

Yes, not only is that forum full of CINOs and mean-spirited people (good luck navigating the "Traditional Catholicism" section), but some of the moderating staff is corrupt as well (as well as incompetant). I was suspended for a month, and when I asked what the offending post was, they kept asking what my screen name was (never mind the fact that if they just read the prior email they would have seen it). Moderators are part of the problem, especially if they are the ones violating the rules regarding false accusations. Unfortunately, they have a CYB statement saying "if you feel wronged, offer it up":

That post is just ridiculous. It is totally counterproductive to a charitable Catholic forum. No wonder there are so many mean-spirited people there. The admin is basically saying at the end that they just don't have the time to respond to complaints. Why should anyone have to put up with harassment?

I'll tell you one thing, I really am sick of the Vocations forum at CAF. There are some really uncharitable people there (unfortunately, that includes the religious) who will attack you at the slightest turn. It's not fun at all. I love and respect all religious, but I really don't think that the ones that frequent that forum try to hold their tongue. They've posted several topics saying that people pick on them and are rude to them. It's like the pot calling the kettle black.

I'm sorry if this is not in the right forum. I just really needed to vent and I can't do it there because the mods don't listen. I'm wondering if I will get suspended or banned again for sending in complaints. My PMs are still turned off. :(

I think that this thread is particularly uncharitable. I have never had any problems there although I don't post a lot either here or there. I just don't think we should be bashing each other on either forum and if we want to take the moral high ground, it would be a good idea to stop criticising other Catholics. If you don't like it there, don't post or read there. If you are being harrassed, change your username so that person doesn't know who you are. But what's the point of posting here about how much you hate them? Show a little charity yourself if you want others to show it to you!

That place is much too large for me. Too much to keep up with. However, it is a great place to search for an issue/dilemma you are having. Such as what to do if your sister[who is Catholic] is marrying a non-Christian on the beach.

I was not trying to be uncharitable. I'm just particularly unnerved by the amount of disrespect shown on that forum. I can't vent about it anywhere else. I haven't named names or anything. I also don't feel like I've singled anyone out, but if I have, please forgive me. It just makes me uncomfortable posting somewhere where the mods don't keep an eye on things. Things spiral out of control REAL fast.

I'm going to ask the mods here to please close this.
