"conversion" Letter

Brother Adam

I know you've all already seen this, but I figured this would be a fitting forum to post this, and you can ask me any questions you have.

[quote]Dear Friends,

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, who came as the Word Incarnate nearly 2000 years ago for our salvation. Glory be to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

I am writing this letter as an official announcement that as of now I intend to fully reconcile to the Catholic Church on Easter Vigil, 2005.

While on the surface, I am nervous delving into a somewhat unfamiliar culture, I can with unwavering confidence say that Catholicism not only has the most biblically rooted theology and doctrine, but also that history itself gives enormous support to the Catholic Church and her people.

This decision has not been easy or quick. And I won’t even be fully reconciled until next Easter. I do believe though that the thousands of hours of prayer, reading, study, and debate have lead me to be more than capable of accurately making such a decision. Notice that emotion and friendships do not play into this. This is a decision made on my desire to please God alone and draw into an even more intimate relationship with him. And I am deeply at peace with this.

For those of you who may take adversely to such a letter as this, let me say that most people do not understand what Catholicism is. This includes non-Catholic pastors, scholars, and college professors. All I can say is not to take what you have been taught for granted. Take an issue that you disagree with and talk to Catholics who live their faith and have training in Catholic apologetics. So many Catholic laymen today do not know the Catholic faith and have their own ideas as to what it is. Please see the FlyFree Ministries Reading section for a place to start. And if you are uncomfortable talking to other Catholics, talk to me. I’m more than happy to listen and answer questions as I have time.

Our God is a God of covenants. From Adam and Eve, to Noah, to Moses, to Abraham, to Jesus. Today we have been offered the gift of salvation because of the final and everlasting covenant through the blood of Jesus. He made the final sacrifice for our sins. Once and for all. And now we are called to participate in that covenant, to be adopted children of God through baptism and live a life of faith filled with devotion, repentance, and good fruit.

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ~ Romans 10:9

This sums everything up. To confess and believe. To be liberated from the evil one. To live life as God calls us to. Being a Christian is so much more than listening to sermons or knocking on doors. We are called to let our Lord encompass our whole lives and devote everything we have to Him.

This is what the Catholic Church calls its people to. To believe in Jesus Christ and fully accept Him as Lord and Savior.

In His Service,

Adam Janke

Brother Adam...All I can say is...By the Grace of God Mircale's happen...Just think in about a year, you will be receiving the Flesh of Christ...The same Flesh He offered at the last Supper, the same Flesh that hung on the Cross...The same Blood that was shed during His scourging...The same Blood that bled from this crown of thorns...The same Blood He offered at the Last Supper. Just think...You will be receiving the Same Eucharist that EVERY Saint, Pope, and Catholic has ever received. You will become part of the Body of Christ. GLORY TO GOD! I want to cry...I remember what it was like, and it was the best most holy day of my Life!

Prayers are with you Brother Adam,

Dearest Adam and Teresa,

All I can say in a hushed and reverent tone is "wow". Your journey is a witness to all of us in so many ways. I pray that God will continue to bless you! May Our Lady continue to lead you ever closer to the heart of her son!

Am I allowed to be somewhat jealous of you both?

I want so much to be where you are, at peace with God.
I find myself sitting here crying tears of joy for you both and at the same time send constant prayers to God to send the Holy Spirit to guide me.
May all of Gods abundant blessings be upon you both today, tomorrow and forever more.

Roberta

P.S. I will probably have 5,000 questions for you.
