It's very hot. Be prepared: some people might be dressed in a manner that some might find to be immodest.

And many of them will be fat, so it won't be as amesome as goldson just made it sound.

Yeah, it's beyond the Thunderdome, out here.

By "many" Winchester means "the vast majority" - and they wear bikinis on the beach in Galveston.

No worries though, it's too hot to notice if any of them might be attractive.

I'm not a Houston Phatmasser ... but I've been there on travel many times. Pappasito's Cantina is wonderful. Love the Mexican food from there. I don't like their bbq place. But I loved the Cantina.

Also Pappadeaux's. It's run by the same family...I think there's one inside Houston. ALSO: if you like tea, go to British Isles. It is a revelation! I have cousins who live there, so whenever we visit, we eat around the city!

OH and the Brassierie 19--it's near River Oaks. DELICIOUS. Their crepes are so so so delicious.

I'M FROM HOUSTONNNN!!! Go to my parish, Annunciation, which is downtown across from Minute Maid Park on Texas Avenue. It's beautiful. Also, I would recommend going to the aquarium. The BEST place to eat in Midtown is called Cali's-- it's a Vietnamese dive but it's my favorite place in the whooole world. There are tons of great restaurants. I could recommend good places to shop but I am assuming that's not your thing. Hang out int he Galleria area if you are looking for hot spots to chill. And go to Montrose if you want a taste of the scary but incredibly entertaining nightlife that Houston has to offer (if you're on Montrose, eat at Brasil -- it's amesome). Transvestites included! The museum district is pretty fun, too, and they have a lot of free admissions. Opus Dei has a presence in Rice Village if you're looking for some Catholic support. If you like swing dancing there are some good places to go. Basically Houston has everything <3 Love my hometown! My personal favorite place to be is the Champions area in Spring, but the chances of you being in northwest Houston, given how HUGE the city is, are slim.

The Galleria is quite the place. I like how Montrose has all of these great antique shops--you should hear my Brit auntie explain who lives in Montrose! I think Tuesday is the most popular day for free admissions now. There's just SO MUCH to do. Oh!!! And another beautiful, wonderful church is St. Annes. It's run by the Basilians and it's where I go when I visit my auntie and uncle. One of the Basilians gave a great homily that really spoke to my heart.
