Do not mix two points of discussion. My "she's been busy" comment was in regards to her experience and nothing to do with the church situation. Please exercise some integrity in the conversation. Thank you.
Thanks for the clarification.
The interesting thing about an apple and an orange is they share many characteristics; both are fruit, round, colorful, and tasty. Yet, they are different. And so is the case of Bachmann unaware of a corner of her church's doctrine and Obama and the very vocal Rev. Wright church he attended for 20 years.
The interesting thing is how you make quite the opposite argument in the thread regarding medical marijuana and my contention that comparing its usage with abortion is absurd.

But go ahead. Try and tell me how this is different.
Quantify, as in provide by what measure you make such accusations. Otherwise, you're just a noisy gong, a clanging cymbal.
Exactly what am I quantifying again? She strikes me as being an unreliable (one of the definitions of the word "flake" posted before) candidate, and thus I find her to be a flake.
Bachmann holds two law degrees. Obama has one. Bachmann knows tax law and has worked for the IRS; she knows the destructive power of over taxation. Obama was a constitutional law professor and knows very little of the U.S. Constitution. It's clear Bachmann used her experience to gain wisdom while Obama did not.

Bachmann's business experience goes beyond the clinic. As a partial owner of a substantial amount of farm land, she is involved in the agricultural business. And, IMO, her dealings in this are more than likely more honorable than Obama's real estate ventures.

True. Obama would never be in a business which would assist people live righteously. He would rather enable mothers to participate in infanticide.

While Obama was a community organizer, Bachmann was/is a community activist, a case of "sayer" vs. "doer."

Bachmann was also active in her state legislature unlike Obama who voted "present" a majority of the time. Voting "present" is the political equivalent of sitting on your arse and doing nothing. Another case of doer (Bachmann) vs. sayer (Obama).

Bachmann is more qualified than Obama. And even if they were evenly matched, the American public felt Obama was qualified enough to be president. So, Bachmann's experience is a non-issue.
A non-issue for you. I, however, would like to see more experience than what she has--which, again, is not much. You can lay it all out like that, and it still amounts to a couple of years doing a couple of things. Pretty much the same as Obama, though admittedly with more action. Ultimately, I did not voted for Obama because I felt him to be a neophyte, and I feel she is the same. And a flake, as mentioned above.
Quite frankly, given your standards for qualification, I doubt George Washington or Abraham Lincoln would have qualified to be president.
Well considering George Washington was the general in the Revolutionary War, and Lincoln was in and around politics for 16 years before being elected president in 1860. When Bachmann can brag of a decade and a half of service, she can come talk to me.
At this point, I personally prefer my presidential candidate to have less political experience. It's professional politicians that have gotten us in this miss. I would like Mr. Smith in Washington.
God, I wish you would have posted this at the outset so that I could ignore the rest of your post--we don't agree, fundamentally, on what it means to be "qualified." Then again, why bother exhaustively laying out Bachmann's paltry credentials if you're going to contradict yourself a few lines later?

Maybe Michelle Bauchman is more qualified than Obama. Maybe Michelle Bauchman's past church associations are not as toxic as the Reverend Wright situation. But being more qaulified than Obama isn't saying much. Also, her past is riddled with too many potholes for her to be electable. She may have been right about 6-day creationism being an issue that should be dealt with at the local level-but the general electorate will not understand that. Basically, the explanations for her flaws don't amount to enough to save her reputation. She's unelectable, and I sure hope she's not the candidate on the general ticket.

Well, for starters, I am adamantly opposed to any level of government allowing the teaching of 6-day creationism in public schools. Period.

Secondly, being more qualified than Obama is like being the smallest kid at fat camp (trust me...I've been there...)

Finally, it's not an issue of whether or not her flaws can be explained. She's like milk that spoiled before the expiration date; sure, there is probably a very reasonable explanation for why it spoiled--Did someone forget to close the lid (i.e.- her John Wayne Gacy gaffe)? Did you buy it from a store with a bad reputation (i.e.- this church issue)? Was there a temperature issue in the climate of your fridge (i.e.- the aversion to Tea Party politicians by the left, independents and centrist-Republicans)?

Doesn't matter what the explanation is: the milk is spoiled. Done. You're not gonna drink it anyway, despite the fact that it technically isn't expired. You're gonna dump it out with the rest of the trash, in the same way that the dozen or so candidates in the GOP primary whose name isn't Mitt Romney will be dumped this fall.

All I was trying to say is that even if all the Bauchmanites were right about and all of us who don't like her are wrong, that still doesn't make her electable. Basically, I was agreeing with you.

BTW, I think Rick Perry and Herman Cain are somewhat serious contenders. Throw out all the others, but I'm saying that Mitt Romney is not the Republicans' only hope.

Mrs. Bachmann only advances stereo-types of Minnesotans lacking mentally.
Do you even know your statistics, or are you just that jealous of Minnesota? Minnesota has consistently been ranked among the highest in the quality of education offered in the public school system, and it is ranked 10th in the country for the number of higher education degrees per capita. Proof

Minnesotans don't lack mentally, we just have a great appreciation for the outdoors and realize that there is far more to living than ambition. Far too often, this is misconstrued as "backwoods mentality" -- that we don't have running water, advanced electricity systems, and/or, we live in igloos. I don't appreciate your derision.

I say this as a born and raised Minnesotan, who graduated salutatorian at a competitive, large high school, that was taught to seriously value education, both in and outside of the classroom. I am entering my senior year at a highly ranked institution pursuing my B.S. in Mathematics.

All other issues with Mrs. Bachmann aside, the electability of a candidate should have no bearing on whether or not you vote for them.
The electability of a candidate is a huge issue in politics and should be considered by everyone.

Q-What do you tell a Minnesotan with two black eyes?
A-Nothing you haven't told them twice!

I'm just kidding. Given how mentally inferior Minnesotans are as a race it'd be cruel to punish them for not being able to understand basic commands.
