Socrates
i hope you're both joking. (i'll be honest, i can usually not tell when you two are joking around.)
I was referring to that awful "Socrates" character Kujo was talking about - hiding behind catechisms and Republicans and what not. He sounds really bad. But, of course, you can feel free to edit me for charity if you like. I'm sure I was probably being unduly harsh on the guy.

Ice_nine
how this woman generated any more discussion than "lol whatchu smokin' girl?" is beyond me. I have lost my cynicism in a lot of things but the political landscape seems like a huge circus; to which I occasionally watch because I have a morbid curiosity as to what might happen if that tiger gets a little of being yanked around by a little man in a top hat. And by not involving myself in the circus the people in the audience munch on cracker jacks and feed me some tripe about how I'm abandoning my civic duty yada, yada, yada I just don't think politics is an effective vehicle for any real change. That doesn't mean I advocate sitting on your arse and doing nothing, but people pat themselves on the back cause they can go into a little booth and check off a couple of boxes like they're saving the fricken world. Sorry about my speaking with an unpleasant disposition, but the little I've heard of Bachmann (can't seem to avoid her) she's merely another act in the whole spectacle that is modern politics. gergenshtein

BG45
I did like in Hasan's link how she said about the Pope being the Anti-Christ, when asked in a debate, "Well that's a false statement that was made, and I spoke with my pastor earlier today about that as well, and he was absolutely appalled that someone would put that out. It's abhorrent, it's religious bigotry. I love Catholics, I'm a Christian, and my church does not believe that the pope is the Antichrist; that's absolutely false." Considering, you know, it says her Synod has a nine page document laying out why the Pope is the Anti-Christ. This is her John Hagee (see McCain) and her Reverend Wright (see Obama) probably. For her sake, I hope her pastor when she attended this church never screamed explitives in his sermons about America.
kamiller42
It would be nice if the people who pass her off as a flake, idiot, crazy, neocon, etc. would backup their words with proof. It seems to me there is a drumbeat against conservative women. Would these women haters please provide the names of 5 intelligent conservative women deserving of public office? In regards to the whole pope is an anti-Christ and Rev Wright comparison, there is none. Obama attended his hate spewing church for 20 years. And when video of the preacher he posed shoulder to shoulder with was shown shouting America be darned to hell, he did not immediately step away from the pastor and his church. When the doctrine against the pope was brought to Bauchman's attention, she left. Here are some interesting thoughts on the issue, Is anti-pope anti-Catholic? Does this mean Bauchman is the perfect candidate? No. None exists. The idea we pick our leaders based on "gotcha!" fact finding is poisoning the process. Judge based on expressed ideas and principals, history of decisions, and recurring behavior patterns and trends. Infrequent missteps does not make a person. Debra Little
I think Michelle Bauchman is right on some of the issues, but beyond that, she's a danger to the Republican Party. She's not electable, and I think the media is running a pump and dump scheme with her. Someone who believes in teaching 6 day creationism in public schools can't make it through the general election.
what is wrong with beleiving that?
