crusader1234
Bush is full of carp as far as the environment goes. His idea of creating job's is wrecking the environment. If he had half a brain he would have signed the Kyoto accord. But nah, he can go on privatizing water, chopping down trees, stealing water from Mexico, polluting the air... Thats sarcasm. GOD CALLS US TO BE STEWARDS OF THE EARTH... FILLING IT WITH co2 (which does not occur in the same magnitude naturally as we are creating thus throwing off the balance) IS WRONG. GO HUG A TREE BECAUSE THATS WHAT IS GIVING YOU OXYGEN. Iacobus
crusader1234, I have that quote on a shirt. Matty_boy
300,000 jobs were created in the US in March of 2004 from manufacturing. Not, from oil, cutting down trees, whatever else your little demons are telling you. I read a little on the kyoto accord, and that's all warm and fuzzy and all, but there aresome more pertinent issues at hand, like being able to live without terrorists groups killing us all. nobody goes and attacks australia because it used to be an island where england would leave all its criminals. I saw a cute little quote by an australian senator, "You have two choices, President Bush or grandchildren," and i think he's just taking cheap shots on a situation he knows nothing about. We are fighting terrorism, abortion, a crappy education system, and this senator in australia overlooks the whole thing to say that Bush is bad because the environment is not his first priority. President Bush is trying to fight a war, and has taken great pains to slowly build a culture of life. He wants it so people don't abort their grandchildren before they see the light of day. I said nothing about H powered vehicles. I stated that many politicians are pushing for non-fossil-fueled automobiles. The Honda Insight runs on a "battery" with a fuel backup. More of those would be nice. Chill out Bob Dylan. The earth survived the gases that were emitted from the volcanoes, the dinosaurs did not, but i think that was something intended by God because I don't think man would have necessarily fared too well competing with them. We're doing our best, and just because we're not doing it as fast as you'd like us to, doesn't mean we don't care. There are many other things going on in the world that need attention. Did you happen to read the paper on tuesday about the WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION found in Jordan? Some terrorists were planning to kill 80,000 people and blow up a US embassy in Jordan with the bomb. "Get the net!" Edited April 29, 2004 by Matty_boy
Iacobus
Matty granted that we are on a war footing and fighting many issues here at home however that does not give us the head way to commit other sins. Sin is sin, however we look at it. The "war on terror" and enviromental converation are not exculive. In the 1980's for every tree we fell we planted 0.25 trees. We need to recover from that still. And please tell me how defending the US requires us to pollute and limit CAFE and disregard Clean Air and Water? Mind you Bush was pushing these things long before 9/11. The As level in waters etc. You know it is bad when the ex governer of NJ, steps DOWN as head of your EPA becuase of your lack of enviromental concrean. I mean look at NJ, that has to be really bad. And Matty, you know how many net (note the word net) jobs have been created under Bush? ZIP! Goose egg! I live in a heavily blue collar manufacturing area. You know what we have seen under the Bush recover? A 5% growth in unemployment. 5 BIG comapines go under. People laid off in the thousands. So you want to talk jobs, talk to someone in the forest city. And again, how does reducing CO2 prohibt us from fighting a war? How does giving tax breaks to buy Ele-Fuel cars limit us from defending our flag? Tell me, and don't say money, look at the mutli TRILLION dollar tax cuts, that is money. crusader1234
Chill out Bob Dylan? Uh... yeah. Anyways. Moving on... Terrorism CANT BE FOUGHT. This whole battle on terror is totally ludicris, because first of all, terror is called terror becuase you NEVER know when its about to happen. Do you think that terrorists are going to hijack planes again? No definately not. Personally, what are you fighting for to save? Bush, sure, has created a lot of jobs. Think about how many jobs were lost before this growth. MORE THAN WERE CREATED. No growth... just lessening his damage. Kyoto is fluffy? Fluffy is an adjective I'd use to describe your thoughts. Saving the environment should be our number one priority. What else is there to fight for if yuor environment is going down the crapper? Id rather be scared in paradise than be free in a wasteland where there isnt any water to drink. p.s. we arent going to share our water when yours runs out.
