OnlySunshine
If you witness a co-worker taking supplies when the instructions for the company specifically state otherwise, are you committing a mortal sin by not reporting it until later in the week? This just happened Saturday and I just reported it to my manager a little while ago after praying about it. The guilt was eating me up inside for not reporting it sooner. Do I need to Confession for being a witness?

[/quote] I think it is reasonable to take some time to prayerfully consider what you should do in something that potentially could affect your job or your co-worker's job. This is especially so when it isn't an issue that is an emergency. If for example you worked in a hospital and saw someone tamper with an IV, you would be required to report that immediately because it could affect someone's health. If you just see someone stealing medication from the supply closet, it would be okay to take some time to pray about it, for them and yourself, and to investigate the best way to report the incident. Just don't handle it the way my father did when he caught his supervisor stealing parts from the garage he worked at. He apparently took a chain and proceeded to make his displeasure known against his boss's backside. The Union helped him keep his job. It was only one of two times my father lost his temper that I know of. The other was when he caught a man at church stealing from the church's bingo money. No contact happened that time, but it took three guys to hold him back. That one I witnessed, and it was a side of my dad I had never seen before.
