1) If you tell the truth today, you do not need to explain yourself tomorrow.
2) Don't underestimate the powers of the Dark Side.

Never complain. Never explain.
[/quote]

I heard this in relation to artworks one has produced, specifically as, " Never complain. Never explain. Never apologize." And my friend added, "Never volunteer."

God will usually make you learn something before He gives you what you want.

It is our choices that show us who we truly are.

Quit worrying, silly. Think about happy things. And perfect things.<-- Phil 4.

Quit making excuses, kids, you're supposed to be perfect too. <--1 Tim 4:12

You cannot actually kill people with kindness, but you can use it to lure them into striking range.

The only thing that I have learned is that I don't know very much.

my favorite sayings:

- Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

- If you want to hear God laugh, tell Him about your plans.

- God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

- Instead of telling God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is.

- Prayer may not change things for you, but it will change you for things.

- The Will of God never takes you to where the Grace of God will not protect you.

- Be who you are and say what you feel, because those that matter don't mind, and those that mind don't matter.

Really, that second one isn't that important, because if they have need of seeing your underwear, chances are they're going to cut them off, anyway, so you may want to wear an old pair so your new ones don't get ruined. Plus, if you're in a bad accident, well, they might not be clean anyway... Although, my mom has said the same thing, and she's the one who told me that they'd just cut 'em anyway, so I think it's just a mom thing...

How about ... don't eat yellow snow.

My Mom's favorite: "Good times don't last any longer than the bad ones do."

The theological virtue of love is everything... if I do not possess it I am nothing and I will end up reducing everything and everybody to nothing.

Luke 12:

22
He said to (his) disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life and what you will eat, or about your body and what you will wear.
23
For life is more than food and the body more than clothing.
24
Notice the ravens: they do not sow or reap; they have neither storehouse nor barn, yet God feeds them. How much more important are you than birds!
25
Can any of you by worrying add a moment to your lifespan?
26
If even the smallest things are beyond your control, why are you anxious about the rest?
27
Notice how the flowers grow. They do not toil or spin. But I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of them.
28
If God so clothes the grass in the field that grows today and is thrown into the oven tomorrow, will he not much more provide for you, O you of little faith?
29
As for you, do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, and do not worry anymore.
30
All the nations of the world seek for these things, and your Father knows that you need them.
31
Instead, seek his kingdom, and these other things will be given you besides.
32
Do not be afraid any longer, little flock, for your Father is pleased to give you the kingdom.
33
Sell your belongings and give alms. Provide money bags for yourselves that do not wear out, an inexhaustible treasure in heaven that no thief can reach nor moth destroy.
34
For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.

.......... we picked this as the Gospel for our wedding Mass. If there is one lesson I have learned and am still learning, it is the above...

ETA: this is from St. Luke :)
