havok579257
i am a scrupulous person so i don't know if this is a venial sin, mortal sin or even a sin at all. my parents have an old bible in their basement that they no longer use since they no longer go to church. i grabbed it one day intending to look at it since at the time i did not have a catholic bible. i intended to use it, although when i took it i am pretty sure i was intent on getting a catholic bible of my own(it was a while ago so i can't be certain), since it was an old bible that was falling apart. turns out it was an old protestant bible, so it was of no use to me. it will be returned to them next time i am over there. now techincally i did not ask them, although knowing my parents, they would not have cared. although because i did not actually ask their permission and just took it, is it considered stealing or am i being scrupulous? cappie
You answered your own question when you said:" although knowing my parents, they would not have cared." It's often referred to as presumed permission. There was no sin involved.
