Whats Your World View?

Hey there cats and kittens, dudes and dudettes. I have question for ye. Or you. Or yo. Whatever.

Anyway, so here's the thing lovelies, I love to worry. Well, actually, no I don't love it. I detest it actually. But, anxiety and I are best buds. When I am in my most anxious state, I am literally afraid of everything. Yes. Everything. That is in and of itself another long winded and oft repeated post. That I will not be making unless under the instruction of my therapist.

When I'm not, I tend to see the world in a much more favorable light. Yes, again, I understand we live in a fallen world, but I tend to lean towards the majority of the human populace siding on the side of right most of the time. For example, in great natural disasters, there are far more people tending to each other than off looting the local stop and rob. At least I like to believe it so.

In personal histories, you see unbelievable tragedy that gives way to tremendous faith.

So what say you, you phat-tastic cats, are you a pessimist or optimist? And why?

....btw, let it be known that I have not fallen off the faith bandwagon. I have just stumbled and skinned my knees.

Sounds like my sister-in-law who gets anxious about becoming anxious.

Some say glass is half full and some say glass is half empty. Me, I say glass is too big.

I usually figure that it depends whether or not something was poured into it half way, or poured out of it halfway.

What size is this glass anyway?

Almost always one pint.

If that's the case it's half empty. But as long as you've got backup you're good.

Cautiously optimistic. I'm not headed to a survivalist camp, but I have the equipment just in case.

I'm an extremely positive person. I try to see the best in people, and I put my hope, trust, and faith in the Lord. And, Romans 8:28

But the Lord is making all things come to completion according to His plan, so I try to trust and not let it get me down or cause too much worry, at least for long. Before my faith and prayer life started to develop, I felt like I was constantly running against a really bad headwind.

I try to be an optimist. The key word there is "try". Though when asked for the first time, I thought of the glass as half-full.

When it comes to matters of The Church, I am an extreme opitimist. I trust in the Holy Spirit to guide our leaders and Priests. That is what faith is all about; trust. I also know, for certain, that The Church will never fall. "You are Peter, and upon this rock I shall build My church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." (Matthew 16:18)

When it comes to my life, though I may not always be an optimist, I try not to worry too hard about my future. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34)

Groo the Wanderer

My worry is that when the glass is half full of beer, that I still have half my pizza too. Gotta keep things in perspective and in balance.

I swing both ways on worldview. I know that end the end we win. I know that the gates of hell shall not prevail against the Church. I also know that God tends to allow His people to be chastised when they stray. Sometimes I am torn between begging for mercy and asking God to let it lose with a big 2x4 to the head for our latest stupidity (*cough* new york *cough*).

I guess we just gotta remember that His justice and His mercy are the same to Him. We want justice when wronged, but we beg for mercy we do wrong. Humans are nuts. Keep yer eye on the prize, run the race as best you can, fight the good fight.

...and when you do run out of pizza and your glass is empty...order another round!

It depends what's in the glass. If it's beer, the glass is completely empty because I drank it :D

If whatever is in the glass can be filtered and all the mess removed, then I'm optimistic, even if that means whatever is in the glass is no longer the same.
