Sojourner
From what I've found, the St. Barnabas Society is a sister organization to the Coming Home Network in England. A gentleman named Dwight Longenecker works with this group. Anyone heard of him or this group? Are there other such organizations in other countries that people know about?
Adeodatus
The St Barnabas Society used to be called the 'Converts' Aid Society'. As far as I recall they aim to help Anglican converts to Catholicism who, by their conversion, will suffer in terms of employment and finances, e.g. an Anglican clergyman becoming a Catholic priest won't be able to support his family on his parish 'salary'. Mr Longenecker is an American who has lived in England for many years. He writes now and then for the more decent Catholic papers, and is a convert himself. I think his story appears in vol. 3 of Patrick Madrid's 'Surprised by Truth' series, as well as in a volume of conversion stories edited by Mr Longenecker himself, 'The Path from Rome'. homeschoolmom
I wonder what happens to others in Christian workers who could lose thier jobs-- teachers, missionaries, etc. Does the Coming Home Network help them or only Pastors?
