New York Legalises Same-Sex Marriage

Defending and protecting marriage for the greater good of society is not just a religious principle. It is also a secular principle.

And please refrain from using homophobic, it is a leftist, statist phrase to slap those who oppose same sex "marriage" and reveals who you really are.

1 Corinthians

Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 That is what some of you used to be; but now you have had yourselves washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.
Matthew 10
Do not think that I have come to bring peace upon the earth. I have come to bring not peace but the sword. 35 For I have come to set a man 'against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; 36 and one's enemies will be those of his household.'

Ooh, it's been a while on Phatmass since we say the "Conservatives are cavemen" argument.

Calling names always proves one's superior evolvement.

At least I missed getting tagged with the "drooling idiot" moniker.

Well:

^^^^That attitude^^^^
The Catechism of the Catholic Church uses the words "intrinsically disordered," "objectively disordered," and "grave depravity."

Saint Paul , in his inspired epistle to the Romans used the terms "shameful affections," "against nature," and "that which is filthy" to describe this vice. (Romans 1:26-27)

But the Apostle was obviously just a primitive slack-jawed hominid in need of enlightenment by the likes of Kujo.
You bore me, Soc.

I believe it is more "progressive" than saying "God hates fags." And it's "progressive" in the sense that it shows that one can disagree, even vehemently, with something without being a slack-jawed hominid about it. I'd say it was more "evolved," but something tells me you'd break out in hives and start foaming at the mouth if I brought that word into discussion.
Sorry I fail to entertain you.

And the vast majority of Christians who agree that homosexual activity is morally wrong are not the Westboro Baptists (who consist essentially of a single family of nutjobs). Certainly no one on Phatmass has ever made the statement you quote.

And no, that word would not make me break out in hives and start foaming at the mouth, though it would likely provoke a strong case of nausea.

homosexuals who engage in sexual activity with members of the same sex are not out of communion with the church. that is a ridiculous statement.

the argument that no fruit can come out of a homosexual marriage is also ridiculous. in Gaudium et Spes, the council fathers clearly rejected the idea that children are the sole end of a marriage.

A homosexual "relationship" can never be an actual marriage.

(And why cite Gaudium et Spes, while clearly rejecting everything the Church has written on the topic of marriage and homosexuality?)
and homophobia is not some made up leftist word. I am not saying that those who oppose gay marriage for religious reasons should be thus branded, but that there are people who genuinely fear and hate homosexuals.
Today it is largely used to brand anybody who opposes the state recognizing "gay marriage" or who agrees with the Church that homosexual activity is immoral.

I believe that adultery is gravely immoral, and that this fact should be reflected in law. However, I am not an adultery-phobe who lives in intense paranoid fear of my wife cheating on me.

Besides, a phobia is a mental illness, not a crime, and can't be legislated away.

Not everyone standing up for traditional marriage should be fired, or persecuted. There are some people on this forum(i would hope most) that have built their arguments against gay marriage on a foundation of pure religious principles, and no hate or bigotry, and im sure others in the world think the same way. But some people who could be called as "standing for traditional marriage" are not doing that, and are certainly deserving of the punishment they get for it.
I agree that hating people with same sex attraction is wrong, and that in many ways us Christians have failed to treat these people properly. But at the same time, are they not hateful towards us? I mean my god, how many offensive things have gay groups done against the Catholic Church and NOT been reprimanded? Need I mention specific cases were Cathedrals were stormed by homosexuals during mass? By indecent parades where they march dressed as nuns and cardinals, and even cases where such people simulated fellatio outside of St Patrick's Cethdral on Sunday? Is this not HATE? Sure it is, but the Catholic Church is the villain, so who cares... right? And why do they hate us? Because we believe as we have always believed? Because we don't accept a radical redifining of sex and marriage? Sorry buddy, but we aint changin' for no one! If these folks really believe in the concept of a democracy, let us duke it out in the public arena with intelligent arguments.

Oh... and for the record, making an intelligable argument against homosexual acts/unions/etc is not "homophobia." What a nonsensical word anyway! It literally means phobia of the same... pheh!
