It's the moderator forum. :proud: I only know because I was there for a few weeks last year around this time. ;)

:) I assumed that this was what you meant. I also used to be able to see a Trash phorum but didn't have access to it. Now I can't see that either, so I assumed once again that it was hidden except to Mods.

I still don't really see why only CMs and up should be able to see the phorum, as long as the description of the phorum cautions those people.

I've never been part of an internet community that DIDN'T have a hidden moderator forum. Since this is a Catholic board, I assume the mods and dUSt are all back there saying the Rosary. :amen:

Goofball. ;)

I think the point of a hidden phorum is so that those who don't have access to it don't feel left out....

The problem with the "hidden" idea for the Catholic vs Catholic debate forum is that there are LOTS of Church Militants. There is no way they are ALL going to keep silent that the forum exists. So, Phatmass members who can't see the forum will still probably find out it's there sooner or later.

How they feel about being excluded will depend on the person. I suspect many people won't care, just like I could care less that there is a hidden mod forum that I can't see.

However, if a "hidden" Catholic vs Catholic debate forum is set up, I care, and I humbly ask dUSt for access to that forum. If it makes him more comfortable, that access could be on a "read-only" basis.

Well, it's funny, but since dUSt referred to the Back Alley, I (obviously mistakenly to judge by your 'doh' emoticon) assumed he meant a similar phorum to that one... where the public could see that there was a board, but they couldn't enter the phorum and see the posts (and obviously couldn't post). Also similar to the alcohol and child phorums except there was no password.

I am now going to assume once again that it was not your intention for the 'doh' sign to indicate that you think I am stupid for coming to the incorrect conclusion here but that you somehow think that this is funny ??? But if this is how your correct everyone, it is no wonder that you have had problems on the phorum before.

That's not what the Back Alley was....the Back Alley was open to everyone...but it was a place where all the bad posts went or where people went to really duke out the tough stuff...

As far as the emoticon...I'm sorry that you didn't get it. I won't attempt humor with you again. It is prolly best that I just let it go.

Perhaps we don't have the same idea of humour? That's possible. I don't laugh at slapstick either and many people do. And since I get emails, I don't see the picture, only the words. They look funnier in an emoticon than they do written out.

As for the Back Alley, that is where we have our misunderstanding. I wasn't around during the old Back Alley, which is what you must be referring to. I was talking about the 'pseudo' Back Alley or perhaps Back Alley Mark II? I forget what dUSt called it last year (or was it longer than that?) when he created a phorum where something similar to this could occur.... it wasn't 'hidden' but it was limited to Catholics only, and at the time it caused some distress to non-Catholics who could see it and not access it. It was closed down and perhaps you were not around during that time? I can't evern remember what it was for, but at the time people were referring to it as similar to the Back Alley.

No, that's incorrect. The Back Alley was NOT open to everyone. Only Catholics over 18 were allowed in the Back Alley. They had to request permission from dUSt.

Oh well, that's not how I remember it, but ok.

Since I was over 18 before I joined, I was always allowed there...

Thanks...

I think having a board for it would be great, because I don't think the mods have enough time on their hands to be closing threads all the time. Honestly, the reason I only come on PM periodically anymore is because of how it's gotten with Catholics arguing with each other all the time. That's not why I joined a Catholic message board. This place used to feel more like a haven from the craziness of the world where you could just chill with some Catholic homies. Now, even your homies can be your enemies. And that ain't cool yo.

Sometimes it feels like walking into a room where a fist fight is going on.... then it seems most judicious to slowly and silently back out of the room! :) Sometimes I can't help posting once or twice during these knock down/drag outs, but it doesn't really pay to hang around - innocent bystanders can get hurt too! :P

I've said my piece. I support the idea of the room, based upon my opinions I have already put forth.

I will now bow out.

thanks!!
