It's been a long time since I did the Stroll
Ooh, let me get it back, let me get it back, let me get it back
mm-baby, where I come from
It's been a long time, been a long time
Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time
Yes, it has

V8 is great for making gazpacho. Mmmmm. (recipe)

It's also fun to drink it warm out of a glass and pretend you are a vampire/werewolf consuming blood or hearts-in-a-blender....but then, that's perhaps as creepy as the cannibalism.

(Personally, I prefer my V8 over ice cubes.)

I love chilled tomato juice and chilled V8. I don't like Bloody Marys though - I wonder why that is? I like vodka in screwdrivers but not Bloody Marys

i will never have anything with vodka in it. the stuff makes me sick.

[i]Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?

And did they get you to trade
Your heros for ghosts?
Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?

Of course besides all that, there's the Caesar, which is the beginning-to-be very famous cocktail created right here in Calgary. :proud:

Primary alcohol by volume
Vodka

Served
on the rocks

Standard garnish
stalk of celery and wedge of lime

Standard drinkware
Highball glass

Commonly used ingredients
6 oz. Clamato Juice
1–1½ oz. Vodka
2 Dashes hot sauce
4 Dashes Worcestershire sauce
Celery salt
Freshly ground pepper
Lime wedge
1 Crisp celery stalk

Preparation
Rim glass first with Lime wedge and then with celery salt.
This drink is definitely a Canadian quirk. :spike: It is VERY difficult to find clamato juice in the U.S., and also to convince Americans that it's prounounced CLAW--MAW-TOE.

Personally, just the thought of Clamato juice makes me nauseous. :x

I've read that half of the Clamato sales worldwide come from western Canada. :D
It's pronounced /kləˈmɑːtoʊ/, so kind of like "Cluh- mah- tow" Officially that would be the a sound in father or palm, but my accent makes me say it closer to æ like in pass or sample. :P

I've never actually had a caesar, but my mom tells me they're wonderful. Iunno.

The way you pronounce it is the way I've heard it pronounced by Canadians. My attempt at reproducing the pronounciation was faulty. The Canadian who told me about the Caesar was from Toronto, but since that's Canada's most populous city, the other half of Clamato sales probably come from Toronto. Maybe it's wonderful, but I'll take your mom's (and my Canadian friend's) word for that.

On the other hand, salt and vinegar potato chips aren't half bad. But, that's also how I eat my fish and chips--as opposed to with ketchup or tartar sauce--so I was used to the taste already. For fish and chips, the vinegar has to be malt vinegar. Any other kind of vinegar for fish and chips is beyond my imagination.
