The Weirdest Thing I've Ever Heard About Abortion
Somehow, we need to start getting people to look at unwanted pregnancies as they do co-joined twins. If there must be a separation, the lives of both people need to be taken into consideration and the separation done in as safe a manner as possible to both of them.
huh? seems to make sense to me.... view both the mom and baby as equals (like conjoined twins)... not that the mom's opinion body takes precedence (as seems to be the view of society today)... and obviously the safest way to separate them is to give birth normally...

I agree.... don't see a problem here.

Maybe the context was that they were actually talking about abortion. Obviously in that sense the lives of both are never taken into consideration.

Yeah, the way I read it was that they are using this argument to be IN FAVOR of abortion. (You know, because of the thread title. Context.)

That really doesn't make any sense--especially this part:
the separation done in as safe a manner as possible to both of them.
How is it a safe manner if the baby is killed off just because the mother doesn't want it?

The quote isn't supporting abortion: that's the key!

The argument is being given in favor of abortion. I know that without context it wouldn't seem that way, but this thread seems to have made it clear that the context is in favor of abortion.
Hence why Ice, and others, see it as ridiculous.

How convoluted!!! It's not even remotely the same situation!!!

Basically it's an argument that a woman should be able to do whatever she wants, because having a child as a result of an unplanned pregnancy will "ruin her life", and what child should be brought into a situation in which they're not "wanted" or "loved", hmm? That's their twisted way of saying the lives of both need to be taken into consideration. How utterly ridiculous.
