truthfinder
I wonder how long it takes them to get dressed in the morning? The habits are beautiful, but very complicated. It looks like they are hardcore Franciscans with the wooden plank bed and the cement blocks instead of tables. Very interesting.
Funniest thing was that I was just thinking about these sisters earlier today. Anyways, unless someone can direct me to any differing information, these sisters are sspx. The Minims sisters were probably the strictest sisters evah! And I think these sisters are trying to bring back some of their spirit. The habit itself though looks like the traditional Carmelite habit to me - just change the green guimpe to white, and the red to brown. Carms used to wear the long outer veil - most no longer do.
Yes, technically they are not - there are only a few groups that could be considered SSPX communities proper. However, I wonder if they would let any other priest serve them. Don't want to cause a debate, only state they are indeed at some level linked with the SSPX and it is not clearly stated on their website (which looks pretty new). Libcath2000
Perhaps this should warrant its own thread, but for now here below are several orders of sisters that employ the traditional Indian sari as part of their habit (like the Missionaries of Charity). And I do not mean that facetiously in the least, your wealth of knowledge about religious orders from around the world is impressive. Where could I find out more about these particular sisters? Gemma
I'm sure there's plenty I haven't heard of, but it's in my organization's statutes to gather this information for the sake of discerners. I run this: http://cloisters.tripod.com/ And this: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/thereligioushabit/ And some charism ideas, some of which are coming to pass: http://cloisters.tripod.com/conf/ The group in question has been discussed by one of our other groups, ecclesia dei vocations. These Minimas used to have a single-page website that had some explanation in English. I can't find that page any longer. Perhaps your Salettinian Reconcilatrices could be your Personal Prayer Rule for your own vocational purposes.
I was thinking you were talking about the Minima Franciscanas. The Fatima sisters--I think--were in Brazil. I'm recovering from a migraine, so memory was dicey. They have the Latin Mass and may have been associated w/the Vianney group down there. Blessings, Gemma

If so, there is definitely some resemblance, but I noticed that the blue on the sisters habit seems to be slightly off (though this could just be the camera) and also, its hard to tell if they use the white cinture/belt. Either way, they are both nice habits.
Gemma
Not sure if that's them or not. Odd how they all have lines on the lower hems of the material. Is that a reflection? If you come across "conference" links, such would be helpful to our discernment lists. Blessings, Gemma
