I've heard his books are great, and from what I can tell, what makes them great is the type of thing that would really appeal to me....(heroic epic!)...but....I don't really need to get into a series that has that much sexual content (I mean, from what I gather). So, I just enjoy the fanart, and leave that as an unexplored vista that I glance at wistfully now and again. So. I'd read the books before I'd watch the TV series, I think!
