Emotional Night

I was pretty emotional last night. My mom started talking about how our dog might not be with us for very much longer after she said that she needed to take her to the vet. Our dog is 12 years old and has stopped eating her medicine in the morning when my mom feeds her. Yesterday, she was crying when she moved, so I gave her some pain medicine. I know that 12 years is a long time, but she is more like a family member than a pet. She's been with our family through thick and thin and I just cannot imagine her not being here without crying my eyes out. Last night, I told my mom to stop talking about it because I know how emotional I get. But for some reason, I started thinking about it myself when I was in my room and was bawling my eyes out. It felt good to release the tension, but I truly am worried that Lucy (our dog) is getting older and sicker.

Please pray that she is with us for a few more healthy years. I don't want her to suffer just to be around. I want her to be completely healthy and live a long life.
