I also stated that I'm personally unaware of the pro-life "statistics" of both states.
i don't know how to google that. i tried, but failed. HisChildForever
it's not a life. it's a 'problem.' it's a 'burden.' that difference in wording makes it easy to be passionate, for pro-aborts.
But disturbingly, the one woman in the Jersey restaurant was nodding along when the young man kept repeating "I can't have this baby". (I actually think it's interesting and more thought-provoking that they specifically said "baby" and not "pregnancy".) So she was acknowledging that yes we're talking about a life here. Although I do agree that there's so many words and phrases the pro-abortion "movement" uses to appear friendly and interested in women's health. KnightofChrist
Yes we do have the biggest abortion clinic in the western Hemisphere, that monstrosity is less than 3 miles from me. But we have quite literally been forced to accept it. I look at other things, like the fact that NJ pays for abortions via medicaid, Texas does not, NARAL gives NJ an A- on abortion Rights, Texas gets a D+, of course we should all be working to get an F.
Let's look at the fact that abortion is still legal in Texas. Ok good battle won, and it is very very good, but the great War still rages, at the end of the day Texas is still wounded mortally just as New Jersey and ever other state in the Union. Until every state makes the murder of babies illegal, flying banners of pride when babies still die is somewhat hollow.
Lil Red
true, but there is a domino effect going on: new jersey, indiana, kansas and now texas - all defunded planned parenthood. isn't that a good sign of public sentiment turning against abortion, which is what is always thrown in pro-lifers faces? You'd have my prayers and support in that case. ^_^

We must also remember the PP makes massive amounts of money without state funding. So it's really just a tip in the iceberg. A good battle won, but not the end of the war. And most certainly not a chance to say one state is better than the other. So long as abortion is allowed in all states that's not something that's important in the grand scheme of things.
You will not find a more serious opponant of abortion on this phorum, but you must distinguish between sale and pillage. New York, Washington, Hawaii, and Alaska, all indeed sold their soul. Some states had already started to sell it peacemeal, but Texas, and New Jersey for that matter had their ability to legally resist taken from them. We should have fought then, but we didn't. I think that the timing, so close to the Civil rights movement, had the entire south questioning itself. regardless we are impotent to do anything now within the legal system. THe only other options are illegal ones.
