Basilisa Marie
Have you ever tried a cream-to-powder variety? Or mixing a bit of hypoallergic moisturizer or sunblock with some powder? I go crazy for all things Benefit Cosmetics, but they can be expensive.
I can't afford any new cosmetics so I am sticking to my L'Oreal foundation. I just wash it off when I'm at home and it seems to be OK. Sarah147
Not to point fingers at anyone, but what is the point in wearing makeup unless courting a man or in a professional workplace? I used to get so miserable when concerned about my looks, and I feel great since I gave it up. I would even strongly dislike wearing any makeup for any reason whatsovever. However, I do rarely spot my acne with spot coverup when its really red and bad looking, because a friend suggested it to me; otherwise, I look like a teen.
I think there can be a real art to it, if one is subtle. I know I started really wearing makeup regularly when I took a job as a hostess at a new restaurant, and that was mostly to blend in with the other young ladies that were hosting/serving. When I was in college I rarely put on makeup, because those were a few more minutes I could be sleeping in the morning and I ended up finding a nice boy anyway. But I think it's fun to wear it. Not cakey, nearly stage quality makeup that make women's faces a completely different color than their neck (not that foundation is a bad thing!). But I find, especially if I'm super tired early on a Sunday morning, wearing a little bit of makeup that looks natural can help me focus and feel more cheerful. It's probably just tricking my self-confidence.
Totus Tuus
Women should feel beautiful for themselves, not just to attract men. You can point a finger at me, I don't mind, because I don't see anything to apologize for when a woman's attitude is "thank you for my body, God. Now I'm going to glorify you by making it as beautiful as I can." Just my .02.
Chrysophylax
I don't ever wear make-up. (except while acting) (same thing with high-heels)--- ---------(and when i did [high heels] I almost tripped and landed on my face, which would have ruined my makeup ) Edited July 3, 2011 by Chrysophylax

Sarah147
My SD pointed out that (in my case anyway), it would be a vanity kind of issue to go to the extent of wearing full makeup, fancy jewelry, etc. I think especially because I have the intention of becoming a Religious Sister someday. They think it's a different thing to wear make-up for a professional workplace, spouse or courting partner.
