How do we know they are either young, or ladies? I agree chicks is not a good one as they could be mistaken for young birds. How about broads, that seems to be a fair one. Babes could seem flirtatious, and the modern use of hoes, unless its addressing a gardening tool, just seems offensive. I vote for Broads.
