flying! :like: as in the superpower and not just an airplane.
It is a tough call to be sure. Flying just seems like too much work and I'm feeling particularly lazy at the moment. The idea of pushing a button, disintegrating on the spot and reassembling in a new location just feels more appealing at this moment, although they are both amesome. However, the concern that some part of my body gets lost in the transition could tip the scale in favor of flying. I'd rather exert the energy flying and end up in one piece instead of being lazy and realizing I left a crucial part of me behind.

I'm intrigued by this. There is something amusing about referring to a grown man as honey bunny. Hmm... Henceforth I will address ja[s][/s]ime as honey bunny.

Con permiso of course!

If you are at point A and want to get to point Z, why bother with all the points in between?

Of course if you really wanted too you could make lots of little teleportation steps to visit most if not all of the inbetween points.

Thinking about it, you could even fake flying by teleporting to all the appropriate spots.

Does teleportation provide a means of time travel??

Oh, sorry for being on topic, carry on.

I'm going with teleportation. Traveling at the speed of light just looks amesome.

Who's to say you can't fly at the speed of light? Of course by necessity you would be indestructable as opposed to the necessity of being reconstructable for teleportation.

Problem with being reconstructable is that your mates would never get bored of blowing you up.
At least if you are indestructable, they will soon tire of trying.

It can't steal your soul! Your guardian angel is always with you, but has no physical being. So when you get dematerialized, your guardian angel sort of hovers over all the parts at once - including your soul - and accompanies you on your little trip, and then you're back to your normal self - body and soul and everything - and then you just go on your way! Simple!

But flying - right, I hate it when I lack oxygen, and then there's the cold to deal with at a certain altitude, but you haven't even mentioned getting stuff in your eyes, or having to contend with geese and turkey vultures. And I do like the feel of the wind blowing in my hair, but like if I drive 60 with the windows open, my hair's always tangled up rilly bad by the time I get there, and that would have to be worse if I were flying. And stop and think about it - did you EVER see Captain Kirk comb his hair after being rematerialized? No. Teleportation wins. Hands down. No doubt.

what if you and your guardian angel get mixed up in the process??

I was all set to say teleportation till Red went and ruined it for me. <_< Lift-off and landings make me nervous. And I don't really like heights.

i'm going to say flying, cos, although the risk of flying into tall buildings exist, teleportation is even riskier. How do you know if your cells are gonna go back to exactly where they were before the teleportation process? You might wind up with a nose on your butt instead of on your face...

Valid points against flying...

I mean what happens if by sheer bad luck you get something gooey and sticky in both your eyes and you're flying in an area heavily populated by objects? Would there be some sort of insurance policy to come with it?

Einstein did when he came up with his relativity theories. Unfortunately because we're predominately mass in our material form, we can't reach that speed limit :( Teleportation would effectively destroy our material form and just send information via energetic means so it would be at the speed of light.

Though I think that if informational blueprints have no perception of time, it would not be equal to time travel (special relativity). However, maybe if people were teleported successively in snapshots of sorts? Maybe the end result would have traveled to the future by suffering the effects of time dilation?

Interesting subject. Very weird though.

See? If you teleport, you end up looking like MiKolbe.
