When actually talking about secession, his voice was back to normal later on in that Tea Party meeting in Austin.. So my apologies. KnightofChrist
Wow cool video, Rick Perry for President. Anybody else remember the two times Bush one liberals treated to seceded and join Canada? Leaving us dumb folk in "Jesus Land", that was funny. The liberals in south Arizona also want to seceded from Arizona. Amusing. Edited June 10, 2011 by KnightofChrist

"Jesusland" was a point of mockery for the crazy right wingers the the left is so fond well mocking. Anyone on the right that isn't a RINO is a radical or stupid. IE Perry IE Palin. It's just lame.
He does not actually use the word secession and really does not advocate it: Actual quote: "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, who knows what may come of that." He later said "I can’t say I was surprised that critics worked so hard to recast my defense of federalism and fiscal discipline into advocacy for secession from the Union. Of course, I have never advocated for secession and never will." http://governor.state.tx.us/news/editorial/12389/ S.

These words make no sense together, and I'm having trouble making it make sense.
I think he's asking if anyone remembers when "liberals" threatened to leave the Union over Bush winning and join Canada as a province. As for the Perry thing, yes that video does have secessionist rhetoric even though, as Skinzo points out in his quote, Perry is quick to dismiss it after ominously bringing it up. For anyone wondering, the Supreme Court case Texas V. White in 1869 says Texas may not leave the Union legally. Also the resolution for the original annexation of Texas states that Texas may be divided into five separate states (Texas and four others), but does not say it may leave the Union. There was even a suggestionof making three states during the annexation, but it was shot down. Nothing against him personally I just prefer to steer clear of his materials out of personal preference.
